MilkLife Strikers started the match by first observing the opposing team’s game, which immediately applied high-pressing from the start. However, Ika Wonda and her teammates remains calm and is able to control the tempo of the match by demonstrating short passes. Momentum finally came in the 3rd minute, when Locita Waranggani managed to break through the guard of the opposing defenders to start her team’s goal party.

Locita’s quick goal broke Lion City Sailors’ concentration. Five minutes later, or to be precise in the 8th minute, Keyla Azzahra Putri doubled the lead with a header. Only one minute after Keyla’s goal, MilkLife Strikers had the opportunity to kick a penalty which was successfully executed by Nadia Shakila Azzahra. In the 10th minute, Ika Wonda took her team further away with two additional goals in one minute. The position lasted until the first half ended.

In the second half, MilkLife Strikers tried to increase their goal tally. However, it was Lion City Sailors who managed to score a goal back through Hana Raiqa in the 23rd minute after only three minutes of the second half. With three minutes remaining, Ika Wonda scored another additional goal to complete her hat-trick on the first day and make it 6-1.

MilkLife Strikers coach, Jacksen F. Tiago, assessed that one of the keys to his team’s victory today was being effective in maximizing opportunities. Not only that, Jacksen also appreciated the mental strength of his players who were not afraid to face one of Singapore’s strong teams.

I told the kids that no matter how small an opportunity they had, they had to be maximized. That’s what they did today. Earlier the opposing team had done high-pressing, from there we managed to exploit the emptiness of their back line. Not only that, I’m also happy that the players were able to overcome their nervousness on the first day. Moreover, we managed to win against a strong team like Lion City Sailors. For me, them being able to come here and get playing experience is very valuable.

Jacksen F. Tiago, MilkLife Strikers coach

Not only does he appreciate the technical aspects, Jacksen also appreciates the team’s togetherness off the field. This is recognized as one of the supports for MilkLife Strikers’ cohesiveness when appearing on the field.

Before leaving here, the players had made intensive preparations. From the start, we focused on improving the chemistry of the players on the field. As a result, today I saw that they all succeeded in mingling and appearing unified. They managed to close the distance between each other even though they came from different team backgrounds.

Jacksen F. Tiago, MilkLife Strikers coach

One of the heroes of the MilkLife Strikers victory, Ika Wonda, could not hide her joy after achieving positive results in the first match at Singa Cup 2026. Ika said that her hard work during training camp had paid off with today’s victory. Regarding the hat-trick she scored, Ika said that the coach had given her special instructions.

I’m certainly happy that I was able to win today. This is thanks to the hard work of all the players who trained hard throughout the training camp. Our training was quite intensive before we got here. Today I also scored a hat-trick, it was in accordance with Coach Jacksen’s instructions, who told me that the striker’s job is to score goals. I’m happy that I was able to do my job well today.
