Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia’s girls’ U-12 football team, MilkLife Strikers, began Singa Cup 2026 with a 6-1 win over host representatives Lion City Sailors at The Rainforest Hub, Singapore, on Sunday.
Ika Wonda, a forward from SD Kristen Manahan Surakarta primary school, was the star of the win with three goals, a hat-trick. The other three goals came from Locita Waranggani, Keyla Azzahra Putri and Nadia Shakila Azzahra.
I told the children that even the smallest chance has to be made the most of. That is what they did today.
MilkLife Strikers coach Jacksen F. Tiago, in a written statement received in Jakarta on Sunday

Jacksen said effective finishing was the key to the win for his players, who had faced high pressure from the Lion City Sailors players at the start of the match.
MilkLife Strikers took the lead through Locita in the third minute before Keyla doubled the score with a header in the eighth minute. A minute later, Nadia extended the lead from the penalty spot, and Ika then scored twice within the space of a minute to put her team 5-0 up by the end of the first half.
Early in the second half, Lion City Sailors pulled a goal back through Hana Raiqa in the 23rd minute. However, Ika scored again near the end of the match to seal a 6-1 win for MilkLife Strikers.
Jacksen praised the ability of the players, who come from various regions of Indonesia, to build cohesion and overcome their nerves in their first match at the international tournament.
He said the experience of facing teams from other countries is important capital for the development of the young players’ abilities and competitive mentality.
Ika, meanwhile, said her success in scoring three goals was the result of the hard work of all the players during the training camp before they left for Singapore.
The win gives MilkLife Strikers three points, level with Malaysia’s representatives Selangor FC Academy A, who also won their opening Group A match.
MilkLife Strikers will next face Nepal’s representatives, Rato Bangala School, on Monday (2 November) at the same venue, to keep their hopes of reaching the final alive.
The girls’ U-12 category of Singa Cup 2026 has four teams playing a single round-robin from 1 to 3 November. The top two teams in the table go through to the final, while the other two play for third place.
MilkLife Strikers are made up of 16 selected players from various regions of Indonesia, scouted through the MilkLife Soccer Challenge girls’ football development programme.
