MilkLife Strikers, Indonesia’s Girls U12 team, opened their Singa Cup 2026 campaign in Singapore with a 6-1 win over hosts Lion City Sailors.

MilkLife Strikers began their Singa Cup 2026 journey with a big win, beating Lion City Sailors 6-1. The Girls U12 match took place at The Rainforest Hub, West Coast, Singapore, on Sunday (1 November 2026), as reported by Bola.

The positive result is important capital for the Indonesian team coached by Jacksen F Tiago ahead of their next match. The impressive display of forward Ika Wonda, who contributed three goals, was one of the highlights.

Lion City Sailors applied pressure immediately with a pressing game from the start of the match. But MilkLife Strikers responded by keeping possession through a series of short passes.

That strategy allowed the Indonesian representatives to develop their game and find gaps in the opposing defence. Locita Waranggani was the first to score, after breaking free of the Lion City Sailors defenders in the third minute.

Five minutes later, MilkLife Strikers’ lead grew to 2-0. Keyla Azzahra Putri scored with a header in the eighth minute.

Before their opponents could rebuild their defence, Nadia Shakila Azzahra extended the lead from the penalty spot in the ninth minute. MilkLife Strikers were increasingly comfortable in control of the match.

Ika Wonda then added two goals within one minute. That productivity took Jacksen F Tiago’s team into half-time with a 5-0 lead.

In the second half, MilkLife Strikers tried to keep control of the game. However, Lion City Sailors managed a goal back through Hana Raiqa in the 23rd minute.

Near the end of the match, Ika found the net again. Her third goal completed her hat-trick and ensured MilkLife Strikers took home a 6-1 win.

Jacksen F Tiago Highlights His Players’ Sharpness

Coach Jacksen F Tiago paid special attention to the players’ ability to turn chances into goals. He said effective finishing was one of the keys to the team’s success against the Singapore representatives.

I told the children that even the smallest chance has to be made the most of. That is what they did today.

He also explained that the high-pressure strategy applied by the opponents actually gave his team the chance to exploit the empty space in the defensive area. The players’ ability to overcome the tension of the first match also earned his praise.

The opposing team pressed high, and from there we managed to exploit the space behind their back line. Not only that, I am also happy the players could overcome their nerves on the first day.

Jacksen F. Tiago

What is more, we managed to win against a strong team like Lion City Sailors. For me, being able to come here and get this playing experience is already very valuable.

Preparation before leaving for Singapore was also seen as having an influence on the squad’s cohesion. The players, who come from different team backgrounds, went through intensive training to build teamwork.

Before leaving for here, the players went through intensive preparation. From the start, we focused on building the players’ chemistry on the pitch. As a result, today I saw them all blend in and play as a unit.

Ika Wonda Grateful for Her Hat-trick

Her three goals made Ika Wonda one of the most outstanding players in the opening match. The forward from SD Kristen Manahan Surakarta primary school said she was satisfied to have carried out her responsibility up front.

She said the achievement was in line with the instructions Jacksen F Tiago gave before the match.

Today I also scored a hat-trick. That was in line with Coach Jacksen’s instruction to me that a striker’s job is to score goals. I am happy I could do my job well today.

MilkLife Strikers in the Race at the Top of Group A

The three points from the win over Lion City Sailors put MilkLife Strikers in the race at the top of Group A. They have the same number of points as Selangor FC Academy A.

After securing a win in the first match, MilkLife Strikers now turn their attention to the next game. Ika Wonda and her team-mates are scheduled to face Rato Bangala School of Nepal on Monday (2 November 2026).

Singa Cup itself is an annual early-age football tournament that has been held in Singapore since 2011. The 2026 edition has 136 teams from 13 countries.

Indonesia has sent MilkLife Strikers as its representative in the Girls U12 category. Their participation gives young Indonesian players the chance to test their abilities against entrants from various countries.
