MilkLife Strikers, Indonesia’s Girls U12 team, opened their Singa Cup 2026 campaign in Singapore with a 6-1 win over hosts Lion City Sailors.

SINGAPORE – MilkLife Strikers began its campaign at Singa Cup 2026 with brilliant results after beating the host representative, Lion City Sailors, with a score of 6-1 at The Rainforest Hub, West Coast, Singapore, Sunday (1 November 2026). The striker from Manahan Christian Elementary School, Surakarta, Ika Wonda, was the star of the victory after scoring three goals or a hat-trick.

MilkLife Strikers immediately came under pressure from Lion City Sailors who implemented a high pressing strategy from the start of the match. However, the Indonesian team was able to overcome the pressure by playing short passes to control the tempo of the match.

The opening goal was created in the third minute through Locita Waranggani’s action which managed to penetrate the opponent’s defense. MilkLife Strikers’ lead increased in the eighth minute after Keyla Azzahra Putri scored with a header.

One minute later, MilkLife Strikers was awarded a penalty which was converted into a goal by Nadia Shakila Azzahra. Ika Wonda then widened the distance by scoring two goals in the 10th minute. The 5-0 lead lasted until halftime.

Entering the second half, MilkLife Strikers continued to try to increase its lead. However, Lion City Sailors managed to reduce the deficit through Hana Raiqa’s goal in the 23rd minute.

Ika Wonda ensured that MilkLife Strikers’ victory was even more convincing after scoring her third goal before the end of the match. This goal also completed Ika’s hat-trick and ensured a 6-1 victory for the Indonesian team.

MilkLife Strikers coach, Jacksen F. Tiago, considered effectiveness in taking advantage of opportunities to be one of the important factors behind the victory. Apart from that, the mental strength of the players is also considered to be an important asset in facing Lion City Sailors, which is one of the strongest teams in Singapore.

The opportunities obtained from the start of the match were successfully maximized into goals. The high pressing strategy applied by the opponent can also be utilized by exploiting empty spaces in their defense line. The players were also considered successful in overcoming nervousness in their first match, even though they had to face opponents with competitive qualities.

Intensive preparation before leaving for Singapore is also an important part in building team cohesion. The togetherness and chemistry between players from various club and regional backgrounds is also considered to be increasingly formed during the training camp period.

Ika Wonda admitted that she was happy to be able to help the team achieve victory in the first match. The hat-trick she scored was said to be the result of hard work during the training camp as well as carrying out the coach’s instructions to be able to carry out the main task of an attacker, namely scoring goals.

The victory in this opening match is part of efforts to develop women’s football development from an early age. MilkLife Strikers’ participation in Singa Cup 2026 is also an opportunity for the players selected by MilkLife Soccer Challenge All-Stars to gain experience competing at the international level.

Through this tournament, it is hoped that the players’ abilities will further develop by facing opponents from various countries. Apart from increasing match experience, this participation is also a benchmark for evaluating the results of women’s football coaching that has been carried out through the MilkLife Soccer Challenge over the last few years.

Singa Cup is an annual youth football tournament held in Singapore since 2011. In the 2026 edition, this tournament was attended by 136 teams from 13 countries.
