Singa Cup 2026: MilkLife Strikers Win Big in Their Opening Match - screenshot of article on Goal.com Indonesia

MilkLife Strikers, Indonesia’s Girls U12 team, opened their Singa Cup 2026 campaign in Singapore with a 6-1 win over hosts Lion City Sailors.

MilkLife Strikers began Singa Cup 2026 with a convincing 6-1 win over host representatives Lion City Sailors at The Rainforest Hub, West Coast, Singapore, on Sunday (1 November). Ika Wonda, a forward from SD Kristen Manahan Surakarta primary school, put in an impressive display and scored a hat-trick in the match.

MilkLife Strikers began the match by first observing the game of their opponents, who pressed high from the start. Even so, Ika Wonda and co. stayed calm and controlled the tempo of the match with short passing. The breakthrough finally came in the 3rd minute, when Locita Waranggani got through the opposing defenders to start her team’s goal rush.

Locita’s early goal broke Lion City Sailors’ concentration. Five minutes later, in the 8th minute to be exact, Keyla Azzahra Putri doubled the lead with a header. Just one minute after Keyla’s goal, MilkLife Strikers were given a penalty, which Nadia Shakila Azzahra converted. In the 10th minute, Ika Wonda took her team further ahead with two more goals in one minute. The score held until the end of the first half.

In the second half, MilkLife Strikers tried to add to their tally. Instead, Lion City Sailors scored a goal back through Hana Raiqa in the 23rd minute, just three minutes into the second half. With three minutes left, Ika Wonda scored once more to complete a first-day hat-trick and make it 6-1.

MilkLife Strikers coach Jacksen F. Tiago said one of the keys to his players’ win today was being effective in making the most of their chances. Jacksen also praised the mental strength of his players, who were not daunted by facing one of Singapore’s strong teams.

I told the children that even the smallest chance has to be made the most of. That is what they did today. The opposing team pressed high, and from there we managed to exploit the space behind their back line. Not only that, I am also happy that the players could overcome their nerves on the first day. What is more, we managed to win against a strong team like Lion City Sailors. For me, being able to come here and get this playing experience is already very valuable.

Jacksen F. Tiago, MilkLife Strikers coach

Beyond the technical side, Jacksen also praised the team’s togetherness off the pitch. He said this was one of the things that supported MilkLife Strikers’ cohesion on the pitch.

Before leaving for here, the players went through intensive preparation. From the start, we focused on building the players’ chemistry on the pitch. As a result, today I saw them all blend in and play as a unit. They managed to close the distance between one another even though they come from different team backgrounds.

Jacksen F. Tiago

One of the heroes of MilkLife Strikers’ win, Ika Wonda, could not hide her delight after a positive result in the first match at Singa Cup 2026. Ika said her hard work during the training camp had paid off with today’s win. On her hat-trick, Ika said the coach had indeed given her a special instruction.

Of course I am happy we could win today. It is thanks to the hard work of all the players, who trained diligently throughout the training camp. Our training was quite intensive before we got here. Today I also scored a hat-trick, which was in line with Coach Jacksen’s instruction to me that a striker’s job is to score goals. I am happy I could do my job well today.

Ika Wonda, MilkLife Strikers forward

Teddy added that Singa Cup is a benchmark for the development work carried out over the past few years.

This is part of our effort to keep developing girls’ football from grassroots level. In the context of Singa Cup, we are trying to give the best players from MilkLife Soccer Challenge All-Stars 2026/2027 the chance to compete at a more competitive level. This step will of course enrich their experience and add to their playing time, as the players can test themselves directly against opponents from various countries. Besides that, we also see this as an opportunity to measure the output of the development carried out through the MilkLife Soccer Challenge. Today, we are happy the players could play well and win.

Ika Wonda Scores a Hat-trick as Indonesia's Girls Fold Singapore Hosts 6-1 at Singa Cup 2026 - screenshot of article on Tribunnews.com

MilkLife Strikers, Indonesia’s Girls U12 team, opened their Singa Cup 2026 campaign in Singapore with a 6-1 win over hosts Lion City Sailors.

MilkLife Strikers coach Jacksen F. Tiago said effectiveness in using chances was one of the main factors in his players’ win.

TRIBUNNEWS.COM – Before their opponents could catch their breath, their net had already bulged three times.

Ika Wonda was the star of the win for Indonesia’s girls’ team, MilkLife Strikers, scoring a hat-trick in a 6-1 thrashing of host representatives Lion City Sailors in the opening match of Singa Cup 2026 at The Rainforest Hub, West Coast, Singapore, on Sunday (1 November 2026).

Ika’s impressive display was one of the most interesting stories on the first day of the early-age football tournament.

The forward from SD Kristen Manahan, Surakarta, showed her sharpness in front of goal and helped her team start the competition with three points.

But the big win was not just the result of one player’s sharpness.

MilkLife Strikers showed effective collective play, especially in exploiting gaps in the defence of opponents who pressed high from the start of the match.

The Indonesian team did not rush to match Lion City Sailors’ fast game. Ika Wonda and her team-mates chose to control the tempo with combinations of short passes before finding gaps to attack.

The strategy paid off straight away in the third minute. Locita Waranggani broke through the opposing defence and gave MilkLife Strikers the lead.

The goal began to unsettle Lion City Sailors. In the eighth minute, Keyla Azzahra Putri doubled the lead with a header.

A minute later, Nadia Shakila Azzahra converted a penalty to make it 3-0.

Ika Wonda then took centre stage. The young forward scored two more goals within one minute in the 10th minute, putting MilkLife Strikers 5-0 up at half-time.

In the second half, Lion City Sailors pulled one back through Hana Raiqa in the 23rd minute. But their attempt to fight back did little to change the situation.

Ika got her name on the scoresheet again in the last three minutes of the match. Her third goal sealed the 6-1 win and completed her hat-trick in the opening match.
