MilkLife Strikers, Indonesia’s Girls U12 team, opened their Singa Cup 2026 campaign in Singapore with a 6-1 win over hosts Lion City Sailors.

Singapore: MilkLife Strikers began their Singa Cup 2026 campaign with a brilliant result. The Indonesian U-12 girls’ team beat host representatives Lion City Sailors 6-1 in the opening Group A match at The Rainforest Hub, West Coast, Singapore, on Sunday, 1 November 2026.

Ika Wonda, a forward from SD Kristen Manahan Surakarta primary school, was the star of the win with three goals, a hat-trick. The other three goals came from Locita Waranggani, Keyla Azzahra Putri and Nadia Shakila Azzahra.

MilkLife Strikers came under pressure from Lion City Sailors, who applied a high-pressing strategy from the start of the match. But Jacksen F. Tiago’s squad responded calmly with short passing to control the tempo.

The strategy paid off in the third minute. Locita Waranggani broke through the opposing defence and put MilkLife Strikers 1-0 up.

Five minutes later, Keyla Azzahra Putri doubled the lead with a header. MilkLife Strikers pulled further ahead after Nadia Shakila Azzahra converted a penalty in the ninth minute.

Ika Wonda then stole the show by scoring two goals within one minute. The two goals put MilkLife Strikers 5-0 up at the end of the first half.

In the second half, Lion City Sailors pulled one back through Hana Raiqa in the 23rd minute. But Ika got on the scoresheet again near the end of the match to complete her hat-trick. MilkLife Strikers sealed a 6-1 win.

Jacksen F. Tiago Praises His Players’ Effectiveness

MilkLife Strikers coach Jacksen F. Tiago said his players’ ability to make the most of their chances was one of the main factors in the win. He also praised the mentality of the players, who were able to cope with the pressure in their first match at an international tournament.

I told the children that even the smallest chance has to be made the most of. That is what they did today. The opposing team pressed high, and from there we managed to exploit the space behind their back line.

Jacksen said he was happy the players were not daunted by Lion City Sailors. He said the experience of playing in Singapore is a valuable opportunity for the young players to develop their abilities.

Beyond the technical side, Jacksen also highlighted the cohesion of the squad, whose players come from various regions and different team backgrounds. He said preparation before departure also focused on building chemistry between the players.

Before leaving for here, the players went through intensive preparation. From the start, we focused on building the players’ chemistry on the pitch. As a result, today I saw them all blend in and play as a unit.

Ika Wonda Happy to Carry Out the Coach’s Instructions

Ika Wonda could not hide her delight after helping MilkLife Strikers win their first match. She said her three goals were the result of the hard work of all the players during the training camp.

Of course I am happy we could win today. It is thanks to the hard work of all the players, who trained diligently throughout the training camp. Our training was quite intensive before we got here.

The player from Surakarta also said her hat-trick owed much to Jacksen’s special instructions. The coach reminded her to carry out a forward’s main task, scoring goals.

Today I also scored a hat-trick. That was in line with Coach Jacksen’s instruction to me that a striker’s job is to score goals. I am happy I could do my job well today.

Singa Cup a Measure of Girls’ Football Development

Teddy Tjahjono, representing Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation and Program Director of the MilkLife Soccer Challenge, welcomed MilkLife Strikers’ win. He said taking part in Singa Cup is part of an effort to broaden the match experience of girls’ football players from an early age.

Teddy explained that MilkLife Strikers are made up of players selected from the MilkLife Soccer Challenge All-Stars. They get the chance to face opponents from various countries in a more competitive competition.

Besides adding playing time, Singa Cup is also a benchmark for seeing the progress of the development work carried out so far through the MilkLife Soccer Challenge.

Singa Cup is an early-age football tournament held in Singapore since 2011. The 2026 edition has 136 teams from 13 countries.

MilkLife Strikers are taking part in the Girls U-12 category. The competition has four teams in Group A playing a round-robin from 1 to 3 November 2026. The top two teams will go through to the final, while the other two will play for third place.

The win over Lion City Sailors gives MilkLife Strikers three points and puts them in contention at the top of the table with Selangor FC Academy A, who also won their first match.

MilkLife Strikers are next scheduled to face Nepal’s representative, Rato Bangala School, on Monday, 2 November 2026, at The Rainforest Hub. The result of that match will be important in the race for the top two places in Group A.
