MilkLife Strikers, Indonesia’s Girls U12 team, opened their Singa Cup 2026 campaign in Singapore with a 6-1 win over hosts Lion City Sailors.

Young Indonesian player Ika Wonda shone on the international stage. Her three goals led MilkLife Strikers to a 6-1 win over Lion City Sailors in their first match of Singa Cup 2026 in Singapore.

The Girls U12 match took place at The Rainforest Hub, West Coast, Singapore, on Sunday, 1 November 2026. The win is important capital for MilkLife Strikers as they compete in the international early-age football tournament.

Ika Wonda, a pupil at SD Kristen Manahan Surakarta primary school, was one of the most outstanding players in the match. The young forward scored three goals, a hat-trick, and helped her team secure its first three points.

MilkLife Strikers showed attacking play from the start of the match. The opening goal came in the third minute through Locita Waranggani, who put her team 1-0 up.

MilkLife Strikers’ lead grew five minutes later. Keyla Azzahra Putri got her name on the scoresheet with a header that made it 2-0.

MilkLife Strikers’ constant pressure made it hard for Lion City Sailors’ defence to build play. In the ninth minute, Nadia Shakila Azzahra converted a penalty to extend the lead to 3-0.

Ika Wonda then grabbed the attention with two goals in quick succession in the 10th minute. The two goals put MilkLife Strikers further ahead at 5-0.

In the second half, Lion City Sailors tried to reduce the deficit. Their effort paid off when Hana Raiqa scored in the 23rd minute to make it 5-1.

Despite conceding, MilkLife Strikers kept their lead. Jacksen F. Tiago’s team kept up the intensity of their play until they scored again.

Ika Wonda completed her hat-trick in the last three minutes of the match. Her third goal ensured MilkLife Strikers closed their first match with a convincing 6-1 win.

Jacksen F. Tiago, coach of MilkLife Kickers, praised his players’ performance. He said effectiveness in using chances was one of the important factors that decided the result.

I told the children that even the smallest chance has to be made the most of. That is what they did today. The opposing team pressed high, and from there we managed to exploit the space behind their back line.

Jacksen also said the players were able to cope with the pressure and nerves of the first match, especially as they had to face one of Singapore’s strong teams.

Beyond the result, Jacksen praised the cohesion of the MilkLife Strikers squad. He said the players, who come from different team backgrounds, had worked together well from preparation through to the match.

Meanwhile, Ika Wonda said she was proud to help the team win and to score three goals in the opening match of Singa Cup 2026.

She said the success owed much to the hard work of all the players during the training camp before leaving for Singapore. Intensive preparation was an important foundation for competing at an international tournament.

Of course I am happy we could win today. It is thanks to the hard work of all the players, who trained diligently throughout the training camp. Today I also scored a hat-trick. That was in line with Coach Jacksen’s instruction to me that a striker’s job is to score goals.

Teddy Tjahjono, representing Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation and Program Director of the MilkLife Soccer Challenge, said MilkLife Strikers’ participation in Singa Cup is part of an effort to develop girls’ football from an early age.

Teddy said the international tournament gives the players the chance to gain experience and playing time against opponents from other countries. The competition is also a benchmark for the progress of the development work carried out through the MilkLife Soccer Challenge.

The chance to face teams from other countries is important in helping players recognise the quality of play at a more competitive level.

Singa Cup is an age-group football tournament held in Singapore since 2011. The 2026 edition has 136 teams from 13 countries.

MilkLife Strikers, sent by Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation together with MilkLife, are playing in the Girls U12 category. The squad is made up of players selected from the MilkLife Soccer Challenge All-Stars 2025/2026 programme.

The Girls U12 category of Singa Cup 2026 has four teams playing a round-robin league from 1 to 3 November 2026. The top two teams in the table will go through to the final, while the other two will play for third place.

Thanks to the 6-1 win over Lion City Sailors, MilkLife Strikers have three points and are in contention at the top of the Group A table with Selangor FC Academy A, who also won. In their next match, MilkLife Strikers are scheduled to face Nepal’s representative, Rato Bangala School, on Monday, 2 November 2026, at the same ground.
