Things to note during Officials Night:

1. Ensure you have submitted your Entry Forms and Passport/Photo ID photocopies,
2. You will receive 01x set of fixtures, 02x Tournament Guide Books, 02x Official Passes, SingaCup merchandise and Participation Certificates,
3. If you have any queries pertaining to the tournament, you can raise it during the Q&A session,
4. Look out for your opponents’ kit colours so as to avoid a clash during the games and the need to wear bibs,
5. For Officials who are only participating in the U10s, rest assured you will not be left out and any new information will be conveyed to you on your arrival.

This is also probably the best opportunity for you network with fellow officials from the different countries and cultures.

The SingaCup2016 Officials Night will be hosted at the Singapore Indian Association tonight, from 8pm – 9pm.

This is an invite-only event where all the team officials, SingaCup officials, partners as well as chief referee will meet.

Team officials will be welcomed and briefed about the tournament ahead as well as for them to raise any queries prior to the tournament proper.

The annual SingaCup, undoubtedly the biggest international premier youth football tournament in Singapore is set to kick off next week from 7 – 11 Nov 2016 at The Cage Sports Park.

This is the 6th edition of SingaCup organized by Dynamique Konzepts. This year, the tournament welcomes a record number 69 teams from across 8 nations, Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Philippines, to the sunny island of Singapore. Apart from the 1,300 young aspiring footballers participating in over 180 matches over the span of 5-days, this year the tournament also proud to share that Mr. Tom Byer, Technical Consultant to Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will be gracing the event. Mr. Tom Byer is also presently the Head Technical Advisor for Chinese Schools Football Program, responsible for enhancing the quality of training and coaching of grassroots football across China.

In the past editions, we have witnessed some great teams’ performances coming from Chonburi FC (Thailand), Semen Padang FA (Indonesia), Football West (Australia) and more. So which are the teams we should watch out for this year? We have shortlisted a few teams which will certainly worth your time under the sun this coming week.

Ceres-La Salle Youth Manila U18 (Philippines)
This team will not be an unfamiliar name for Singapore football fans as their Senior Team had recently collected the bronze medal in the RHB Singapore Cup after defeating Singapore’s Balestier Khalsa FC 2-1. The United Football League’s youth team has participated in the previous edition of SingaCup and their play has always been entertaining. Knowing how their Senior Team has brought the game to the opponents, we are expecting a lot more from this young team. Ceres-La Salle will play Fooktskills (Australia), German European School and SportsCares (both from Singapore) from 7 – 8 Nov 2016.

Chang Thailand Girls U18 (Thailand)
As what the name has suggested, this group of young ladies are probably the best in their age group at the moment in Thailand. With an average age of just 16 years old, this team is made up of mostly Thailand U-16 team representatives. Knowing that the team will be playing against opponents 2 years their senior, the team’s management remains upbeat as they emphasize game exposure is their main objective. Chang Thailand Girls will play Footskills, Walkabout, Mindil Aces (all from Australia), Hong Kah Secondary & SportsCares (both from Singapore).

UST Skills School U12 (Singapore)
Debut outing for the much anticipated team from Singapore. UST, also known as Urban Street Team is a well-known football freestyling group not only excel in football freestyling, they are known for their excellent footwork. Group founders, Terence and Terry also took part in the very first football variety show, First XI where the duo had shown that football freestylers were not just meant for the performing stage, they could be bigger than that on a proper football pitch. Looking forward to their matches and do watch out for the players’ footwork for sure. UST Skills School will play National High Jakarta School, Imran Soccer Academy (both Indonesia) and Walkabout (Australia) from 7 – 9 Nov 2016.

Ikhsan Fandi, son of Singapore’s football legend Fandi Ahmad, represented Fandi Ahmad Academy U12 in SingaCup 2011. He finished the tournament as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) as well as the scorer of 4 goals.

Ikhsan was known as a natural goalscorer with a cool head and good technical skills. Together with his elder brother, Irfan Fandi, both of them received glowing reviews from European club scouts and coaches after they impressed at AC Milan’s junior football camp in Malaga, Spain when Ikhsan was just 8yrs old. During Ikhsan’s stint at Milan camp, he showed off his predatory instincts by scoring 10 goals in just two matches! Since then, Ikhsan had been invited to various top clubs’ academy for training in Europe as well as in South America.

In 2013, Ikhsan finished the Football Association of Singapore’s Centre of Excellence (COE) U14 tournament as the top scorer with 16 goals in 18 games. Ikhsan then proceeded to train at Spanish club, Hercules for 3 months, and then represented Singapore in the Asian Youth Games in China in August in the same year. In Sept 2013, Ikhsan Fandi signed for Chilean top flight club, Club Deportivo Universidad Católica (Chile Primera Division) to continue his football development.

In 2015, Ikhsan returned to Singapore to play in the 26th Lion City Cup for the Singapore’s National Football Academy U16 side and scored a famous hat-trick against Liverpool Academy to bring the scores level after the Singapore’s National Football Academy U16 side trailed 3-0 at half time.

In January 2016, Ikhsan signs for Home United after two and a half years in Chile. At this point, Ikhsan had developed into an attacking midfielder that plays behind the striker, leveraging on vision, ball control and dribbling ability to create chances for the team or take the shot himself. Ikhsan made his top flight professional debut for Home United on 14 Feb 2016, in a S.League match against derby rivals Warriors FC that ended in a 2-2 draw.
