JAKARTA, LIGHTHOUSE – Fadlun A Hamid, one of the coaches of early childhood football in Palu City, admitted that he was proud of the achievement of SSB Palu Selection which will represent Indonesia in the 2025 SingaCup international event in Singapore.
“Maybe people are surprised, because I’m a woman, but I’m a football fan. I am proud to see the achievements of the 14-year-old Palu Selection children. This means that football is loved by everyone in the world, regardless of age or gender,” Fadlun told reporters in Jakarta, Sunday (2/11/2025).
Fadlun A Hamid, who is the coach of SSB Palu Selection, revealed that his fostered team had previously undergone a trial match against MFRI Jakarta and managed to win 2-0, even though they did not field three core players.
“The children are in good health. We always pay attention to their health and stamina because this is the first experience of children from Central Sulawesi representing Indonesia at the international level,” he explained.
Fadlun hopes that football coaching at the school level will continue and get serious attention from the local government.
“It doesn’t mean that after this (the SingaCup) stops. Coaching must continue so that in the future we can return to play against teams from other countries,” he said.
Regarding early childhood football coaching, Fadlun hopes that there will be a special football school of all age levels.
He also expressed his appreciation to the Central Sulawesi Provincial Government for providing support and releasing the team’s departure to Jakarta through Deputy Governor Reny A. Lamadjido.
“We are very grateful for the support of the local government, especially the Deputy Governor who also released our departure, including I would like to thank Mr. Akbar Kaka in the black shirt who also fully supports SSB Palu Selection,” he concluded.
