BALL DESIGN CONTEST
RULES & REGULATIONS

 

Please read these rules & regulations (the Rules) before submitting your design(s) to the SingaCup 2020 Ball Design contest. By participating in the contest, you understand, acknowledge and unconditionally agree to abide by the following Rules:

1. BASIC SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

1.1     The contest is open for online submissions only, through the contest page [www.singacup.com/balldesign2020] on the SingaCup website.

1.2     The contest is open for submissions from 15 September 2020 to 30 October 2020. Any designs submitted after 11.59pm Singapore time on 30 October 2020 will not be accepted.

1.3     Participants may submit more than 1 entry. However, you will only be able to upload one image at a time together with a completed submission form and any subsequent submission will require completion of a separate submission form and design upload.

1.4     All information must be completed in the submission form prior to uploading the submitted design and participants or participants’ parents/guardians (if participants are under 18 years old) must tick the box confirming they have read, understood and agree to the contest Rules.

1.5     The design submitted must be in JPEG or PNG or TIFF or PDF format and at least 800 pixels on the shorter side.

1.6     The contest has two age categories –
1.      Under 18s, and
2.      18 years and over.

1.7     The contest is open to participants worldwide.

1.8     Designs that portray or otherwise include inappropriate and/or offensive content, including nudity, violence, human rights and/or environmental violation, and/or any other content deemed to be contrary to the law, religious, cultural & moral traditions and practices of Singapore, are strictly prohibited and will be immediately discarded. Any participant who submits any such designs may be permanently banned, subject to SingaCup’s discretion, from participating in any future contests.

2. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

2.1     Template: Participants are required to download the Ball Design ‘blank patch’ template from the SingaCup website [www.singacup.com/balldesign2020].

2.2     Only designs completed using the ‘blank patch’ template will be accepted. Any submissions not using the ‘blank patch’ template will be immediately discarded.

2.3     For the Under 18 category, work must be done by hand using any of the following materials; pencils, pens, art paints or crayonsAny digital creation, editing or enhancement is prohibited.

2.4     For the 18 years and over category, there are no restrictions to how the ball design is created. Usage of professional design software is allowed.

3. JUDGING

3.1     SingaCup will appoint a panel of 3 judges from within the organization to judge the contest.

3.2     This judging panel will assess and determine the winning design, runner up and third place.

3.3     SingaCup will broadcast submitted entries and the ultimate winner of the SingaCup Ball Design competition on SingaCupTV [www.facebook.com/singacup] on Wednesday, 4 November 2020.

3.4     The decision of the SingaCup’s judging panel will be final and binding on all participants in respect of all matters relating to the contest.

3.5     SingaCup reserves the right to request submission of the original physically prepared design / digitally created working file for the purpose of authentication. A design may be disqualified if this cannot be provided.

4. PRIZES

4.1     The best 3 drawings in both age categories as chosen by the judging panel will receive a prize.

4.2     The competition prizes for both age categories are as follows:

Winner – SingaCup mystery gift worth S$200/-.
Runner-Up – SingaCup mystery gift worth S$150/-
Third – SingaCup mystery gift worth S$100/-

4.3     The prizes are non- transferable and no substitution or compensation in lieu thereof will be made unless SingaCup, at its sole discretion, determines otherwise.

4.4     The winners shall be responsible for payment of any taxes (if applicable) on the prizes and SingaCup declines any responsibility in this regard.

5. LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

5.1     Participation in the contest is free of charge and voluntary.

5.2     Each participant expressly acknowledges and agrees that:

5.2.1     The drawing submitted for the contest shall be original and created personally by each participant;

5.2.2     No rights are granted to the participant in relation to SingaCup;

5.2.3     The participant shall not grant to any third party any right in connection with his/her drawing submitted for the contest;

5.2.4     No reimbursement of any costs in relation to the creation of the drawing and submitting it for the contest in accordance with these contest Rules will be made by SingaCup.

5.3     In their drawings the participants must not infringe any rights of any third parties, including in particular any and all intellectual property rights and/or copyrights of any person or entity.

5.4     Each participant agrees not to license, publish nor make available their drawing submitted for the contest to any third parties in whatever form.

5.5     Each participant agrees to transfer, at no additional cost to SingaCup, ownership and all his/her rights to the drawing submitted for the contest exclusively to SingaCup, without any territorial or time limitations, in all forms of exploitation, such as copying; printing; distributing; publishing; modifying; altering; selling; recording; transferring; storing in any form of storage; using in public presentations and/or exhibitions; displaying; and licensing, - all of the above by whatever means and in any form and format.

5.6     Each participant agrees to execute such further agreements, documents, assurances and acts as may be required to give full legal and practical effect to the terms, intent and purposes of Clause 5.5 above, including in case his/her drawing is to be used in any additional form of exploitation not mentioned above.

5.7     SingaCup shall become solely entitled to dispose of any and all rights related to the drawing of each participant and the participant agrees not to claim otherwise.

5.8     Each participant shall hold harmless, release, indemnify and discharge SingaCup and its partners, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents and their employees, officers and representatives from all liability, claims, judgements, demands, controversies, agreements, damages, actions and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related in any way to the contest or the conduct of the contest and the acceptance and use, misuse, or possession of any prize awarded, whether in law or in equity, no matter what the cause or nature, and shall further waive any claims they may state or assert against SingaCup in association with the contest even if such injury or claims results from or is caused by the negligence or gross negligence of SingaCup, in whole or in part, due to human error or otherwise.

5.9     Each participant shall agree to indemnify and hold harmless SingaCup from any claim arising out of their participation in the contest including, without limitation, all claims brought or asserted by any third party as a result of any injury or loss that the participant or third party may sustain in any way associated with the participant’s participation in the contest.

5.10     Under no circumstances will the SingaCup be liable for any:

5.10.1     Lost, late, misdirected, stolen, illegible or incomplete submissions;

5.10.2     Error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, submitted drawings;

5.10.3     Problems, failures or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, providers, computer equipment, software, email, players or browsers, or on account of any combination of the foregoing;

5.10.4     Incorrect or inaccurate information, caused by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of the drawing and/or the submissions; and/or

5.10.5     Injury or damage to any participant or to any computer related to, resulting from or in connection with the contest.

5.11     If, for any reason, the contest is not capable of being conducted as anticipated, due to computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of SingaCup, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the contest, SingaCup reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest as deemed appropriate, disqualify any participant, and/or select winners from all eligible drawings submitted prior to the termination, cancellation, modification or suspension. SingaCup reserves the right to correct any typographical, printing, computer programming or operating errors at any time.

6. PRIVACY POLICY

SingaCup is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy, and we will only use your personal information to administer your contest entry. From time to time, we would like to send you updates on SingaCup activities, as well as other content that may be of interest to you. 7. GOVERNING LAW

The contest, all submissions and the Rules shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Singapore law. Any aspects or disputes arising out of or in connection with the contest and/or any submissions will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
