The largest youth football competition in Southeast Asia, SINGACUP, is back for its 14th edition which will take place from November 2-9, 2024 in Singapore. The tournament, organized by Dynamique Konzepts Pte Ltd, will present exciting matches from international youth football academies and clubs from various countries.

Darul Amanah Football Academy (DAFA) U16, which represents Indonesia, also took part in this competition. DAFA brought 19 of its best players accompanied by 4 coaches led by Coach M Irfan.

They joined Group A alongside tough teams such as Jurongville Secondary and Verde Cresta Combined SC U16 from Singapore, LS Talents from Australia, and St. George’s College from India.

The opportunity to compete in the 2024 SINGACUP is certainly a prestigious event for DAFA to show its best abilities at the international level.

H Muhammad Fatwa, the caretaker of the Darul Amanah Kendal Islamic Boarding School, expressed his hopes for the DAFA team who will fight in the 2024 SINGACUP.

“We hope that DAFA students will not only compete, but also make this event a place of learning, strengthening the fighting spirit, discipline, and teamwork. This is an opportunity to show that students are also able to excel at the international level,” he said.

Gus Fatwa, as he is familiarly called, also underlined the importance of maintaining attitudes and morals during the competition.

“As ambassadors of Darul Amanah and representatives of Indonesia, you not only carry the name of DAFA, but also carry the values taught in Islamic boarding schools. Show politeness, humility, and sportsmanship, and always remember that this struggle is part of da’wah through football,” he added.

Strict and Challenging Competition Regulations

The 2024 SINGACUP is open to all academies, football clubs, and schools with age categories ranging from U8 to U18. This competition will take place in accordance with FIFA rules, so all participants, including DAFA, must be ready to face the strict rules that have been prepared by the committee.

The matches in the 2024 SINGACUP will be officiated by licensed referees from their respective federations. For each 11-on-11 match, the committee will also place an assistant referee who is ready to ensure that each match runs fairly.

The committee has prepared a tournament jury consisting of the Tournament Director, the Asian Chief Referee, and the European Chief Referee. The jury has full authority to deal with any form of protest and sanction that occurs during the match.

SINGACUP 2024 will give awards to the winning teams in each age category. This award ceremony is expected to give birth to new stars in the world of youth football, including from DAFA, who are ready to compete and make Indonesia proud in the international arena.

TRIBUN-MEDAN.com, MEDAN- Utamasia Academy and Bali United are collaborating to face the 2024 Lion Cup Tournament.

With the collaboration, six players from the U-10 and U-12 Utamasia Academy will strengthen Bali United in the international football tournament for teenagers.

The six players are, Mohammad Khael Asyraaf Sitorus, Hebron Gabriel Marpaung, Jogi Romora Rajagukguk, Steven Diego Haloho, M. Raga Ringgas Sirait and Agha Khairul Nizam.

“Of course we are proud, our academy is trusted by a team of Bali United’s level to collaborate in the Lion’s Cup tournament,” said Founder of Akademi Utamasia, Donny Siregar, Monday (4/11/2024).

For him, this collaboration is a very valuable experience for his coaching team.

“We are trusted, which means that it is not that easy for them to invite us, right. You see, there are also many academies that have been around for a long time,” he said.

Furthermore, the former PSMS Medan player did not want to waste this precious opportunity.

He is determined to extend the collaboration with Bali United to a higher level.

“We will extend this collaboration in the future. This means that there will be a greater collaboration than this.

Later, the main product of the 16-year-old Utamasia Academy, which has great potential, is likely to be tried by U-16 Bali United. So they will prioritize Utamasia children from Medan to try their U-16 at the EPA,” he said.

Thus, Donny hopes that the collaboration can run well. So that the ideal of producing talented footballers can be realized.

“We want to give birth to more potential players, and can develop to enter the national team in the next 2-3 years,” he said.

However, Donny does not deny that to realize these ideals, his team needs full support from the federation.

For him, the support from the federation has a big impact in developing football in the city of Medan, especially in North Sumatra.

“Hopefully there will be support for us from the federation. We hope that there will be support, both morals, infrastructure, and human resources,” he said.

On the other hand, Donny hopes that his team’s collaboration with Bali United can motivate football schools and other academies in North Sumatra.

So that SSB and the Academy can continue to improve to create talented footballers in North Sumatra.

“SSB and the Academy can improve quality, both from coaching human resources, infrastructure, and compete properly. So everything must be improved, because the main goal must be to be able to produce players to go to the national team,” he concluded.
