TRIBUN-MEDAN.com, MEDAN- Utamasia Academy and Bali United are collaborating to face the 2024 Lion Cup Tournament.

With the collaboration, six players from the U-10 and U-12 Utamasia Academy will strengthen Bali United in the international football tournament for teenagers.

The six players are, Mohammad Khael Asyraaf Sitorus, Hebron Gabriel Marpaung, Jogi Romora Rajagukguk, Steven Diego Haloho, M. Raga Ringgas Sirait and Agha Khairul Nizam.

“Of course we are proud, our academy is trusted by a team of Bali United’s level to collaborate in the Lion’s Cup tournament,” said Founder of Akademi Utamasia, Donny Siregar, Monday (4/11/2024).

For him, this collaboration is a very valuable experience for his coaching team.

“We are trusted, which means that it is not that easy for them to invite us, right. You see, there are also many academies that have been around for a long time,” he said.

Furthermore, the former PSMS Medan player did not want to waste this precious opportunity.

He is determined to extend the collaboration with Bali United to a higher level.

“We will extend this collaboration in the future. This means that there will be a greater collaboration than this.

Later, the main product of the 16-year-old Utamasia Academy, which has great potential, is likely to be tried by U-16 Bali United. So they will prioritize Utamasia children from Medan to try their U-16 at the EPA,” he said.

Thus, Donny hopes that the collaboration can run well. So that the ideal of producing talented footballers can be realized.

“We want to give birth to more potential players, and can develop to enter the national team in the next 2-3 years,” he said.

However, Donny does not deny that to realize these ideals, his team needs full support from the federation.

For him, the support from the federation has a big impact in developing football in the city of Medan, especially in North Sumatra.

“Hopefully there will be support for us from the federation. We hope that there will be support, both morals, infrastructure, and human resources,” he said.

On the other hand, Donny hopes that his team’s collaboration with Bali United can motivate football schools and other academies in North Sumatra.

So that SSB and the Academy can continue to improve to create talented footballers in North Sumatra.

“SSB and the Academy can improve quality, both from coaching human resources, infrastructure, and compete properly. So everything must be improved, because the main goal must be to be able to produce players to go to the national team,” he concluded.
