KORANBERNAS.ID, SINGAPORE – The campaign of the early-age girls’ football team MilkLife Strikers at the international Singa Cup 2026 got off to a sweet start. Facing host representatives Lion City Sailors in the opening Girls U-12 match at The Rainforest Hub, West Coast, Singapore, on Sunday (1 November 2026), Coach Jacksen F. Tiago’s players secured a convincing 6-1 win.
The Indonesian representatives’ big win felt even more special for the public of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). Talented young forward Nadia Shakila Azzahra, from SD Muhammadiyah Karangploso Bantul, contributed an important goal with a cool penalty that extended the team’s lead.

The partnership up front between Nadia and Ika Wonda, the forward from SD Kristen Manahan Surakarta who scored a hat-trick, was the key to breaking down the Singapore representatives’ defence.
From the first whistle, MilkLife Strikers showed maturity in their play. Faced with their opponents’ fast high-pressing scheme, Nadia Shakila and her team-mates stayed calm and controlled the tempo with tidy short passing.
The scoring was opened in the 3rd minute by Locita Waranggani, who broke through the hosts’ defensive wall. The early goal immediately disrupted Lion City Sailors’ concentration. Just five minutes later (8th minute), Keyla Azzahra Putri doubled the lead with a measured header.
MilkLife Strikers kept up relentless pressure. In the 9th minute, it was the turn of the young forward from Bantul, Nadia Shakila, who calmly converted a penalty to make it 3-0. The first-half goal rush was capped by the sharpness of Ika Wonda, who scored two goals in a row in the 10th minute, locking in a 5-0 lead at half-time.
In the second half, Lion City Sailors pulled one back through a goal from Hana Raiqa in the 23rd minute. But MilkLife Strikers reasserted their dominance with three minutes left, through a final goal from Ika Wonda (hat-trick) that completed a 6-1 win.
Jacksen F. Tiago’s Effective Instructions and Proof That Development Is Working
MilkLife Strikers head coach Jacksen F. Tiago praised his players’ effectiveness in exploiting the gaps in the opposing back line, and the mental composure of the young Indonesian players on the international stage.
I told the children that even the smallest chance has to be made the most of. The opposing team pressed high, and from there we managed to exploit the space behind their back line. I am also happy the players could overcome their nerves on the first day.
Jacksen F. Tiago
The former national team coach also praised the cohesion of the players from various regions, including young talents from Bantul and Solo, who quickly built solid chemistry on the pitch.
Teddy Tjahjono, Program Director of the MilkLife Soccer Challenge from Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation, stressed that taking part in Singa Cup 2026 is an important benchmark for grassroots development.
In the context of Singa Cup, we are giving the best players selected from the MilkLife Soccer Challenge All-Stars the chance to compete at a more competitive international level. This enriches their experience and is an opportunity to measure the output of the development work carried out.
Teddy Tjahjono
The 6-1 win puts MilkLife Strikers in a tight race with Selangor FC Academy A at the top of the provisional Group A table. In their second match, on Monday (2 November 2026), MilkLife Strikers are scheduled to take on Nepal’s representative, Rato Bangala School, in the race for a place in the final.
