MilkLife Strikers, Indonesia’s Girls U12 team, opened their Singa Cup 2026 campaign in Singapore with a 6-1 win over hosts Lion City Sailors.

The MilkLife Strikers U-12 girls’ football team began their Singa Cup 2026 campaign with a 6-1 thrashing of Lion City Sailors. The match against the Singapore hosts took place at The Rainforest Hub, Singapore, on Sunday (1 November 2026), with Ika Wonda scoring three goals, as reported by Detik Sport.

Ika Wonda, a forward from SD Kristen Manahan Surakarta primary school, scored a hat-trick in the match. The other three goals came from Locita Waranggani, Keyla Azzahra Putri and Nadia Shakila Azzahra.

MilkLife Strikers coach Jacksen F. Tiago said effectiveness in using chances was one of the main factors in his team’s win. He also highlighted how the players coped with pressure from the opposition.

I told the children that even the smallest chance has to be made the most of. That is what they did today. The opposing team pressed high, and from there we managed to exploit the space behind their back line.

Jacksen also praised his players’ ability to overcome their nerves in the first match of the tournament. He said the win over Lion City Sailors was a valuable experience for the young Indonesian players.

Not only that, I am also happy the players could overcome their nerves on the first day. What is more, we managed to win against a strong team like Lion City Sailors. For me, being able to come here and get this playing experience is already very valuable.

Beyond the result, Jacksen highlighted the team cohesion built through preparation before departure. The players come from different team backgrounds and went through intensive training to build chemistry.

Before leaving for here, the players went through intensive preparation. From the start, we focused on building the players’ chemistry on the pitch. As a result, today I saw them all blend in and play as a unit. They managed to close the distance between one another even though they come from different team backgrounds.

Jacksen F. Tiago

Jacksen has long experience in Indonesian football. He led Persipura Jayapura to success in national competitions and coached the Indonesia national team in 2013.

Singa Cup is an early-age football tournament held regularly in Singapore since 2011. According to tournament information quoted by Detik Sport, the 2026 edition has 136 teams from 13 countries.

In the Girls U12 category, the competition runs from 1 to 3 November 2026 in a round-robin league format with four teams. Besides MilkLife Strikers, the other entrants are Rato Bangala of Nepal and Selangor FC Academy A of Malaysia.

All four entrants are in Group A. The top two teams in the table will go through to the final, while the other two will play for third place.
