MilkLife Strikers, Indonesia’s Girls U12 team, opened their Singa Cup 2026 campaign in Singapore with a 6-1 win over hosts Lion City Sailors.

Indonesia’s representatives, MilkLife Strikers, began the Girls U12 competition at Singa Cup 2026 with a 6-1 thrashing of Lion City Sailors at The Rainforest Hub, Singapore, on Sunday (1 November 2026). The result came through the attacking effectiveness of Jacksen F. Tiago’s team in exploiting gaps in the opposing defence, as reported by Journalarta.

Ika Wonda was MilkLife Strikers’ top scorer with three goals, a hat-trick. The other three goals came from Locita Waranggani, Keyla Azzahra Putri and Nadia Shakila Azzahra.

The win owed much to MilkLife Strikers’ ability to read the playing pattern of Lion City Sailors, who applied high pressure. The Indonesian players exploited the empty space behind the opposing defence to launch direct attacks.

Coach Jacksen F. Tiago explained that effectiveness in using chances was the team’s main focus during the match.

I told the children that even the smallest chance has to be made the most of. That is what they did today. The opposing team applied high pressure, and from there we managed to exploit the space in their back line.

Besides the game plan, Jacksen also highlighted the players’ mental readiness for the first match of the tournament. He said the players were able to overcome their nerves even though they faced opponents considered to have competitive strength.

Not only that, I am also happy the players could overcome their nerves on the first day. What is more, we managed to win against a strong team like Lion City Sailors. For me, being able to come here and get this playing experience is already very valuable.

MilkLife Strikers’ earlier preparation was also directed at building cohesion between the players, as the squad comes from different team backgrounds and needed a process of adjustment before playing together in an international competition.

Jacksen said the development of relationships between the players was starting to show in the opening match. He said the players had adapted and showed teamwork on the pitch.

From the start, we focused on building the players’ chemistry on the pitch. As a result, today I saw them all blend in and play as a unit.

Singa Cup is a football tournament held in Singapore since 2011. The 2026 edition has 136 teams from 13 countries, with the Girls U12 competition played as a round-robin league from 1 to 3 November 2026.

According to the group draw, MilkLife Strikers are in Group A with Lion City Sailors, Rato Bangala of Nepal and Selangor FC Academy A of Malaysia. The top two teams in each group will go through to the final, while the other two will compete for third place.

Jacksen, who coached the Indonesia national team in 2013 and has a track record with Persipura Jayapura, is accompanying the players through the tournament. After their opening win, MilkLife Strikers still have group-stage matches against the two other entrants.
