MilkLife Strikers, Indonesia’s Girls U12 team, opened their Singa Cup 2026 campaign in Singapore with a 6-1 win over hosts Lion City Sailors.

RADARBANDUNG.id – MilkLife Strikers began their campaign at the early-age football tournament Singa Cup 2026 with an impressive result. The Indonesian girls’ team beat host representatives Lion City Sailors 6-1 at The Rainforest Hub, West Coast, Singapore, on Sunday (1 November 2026).

MilkLife Strikers forward Ika Wonda was the star of the win after scoring three goals, a hat-trick. The player from SD Kristen Manahan Surakarta primary school was sharp and helped her team secure three points in the first Girls U12 match.

MilkLife Strikers came under pressure from Lion City Sailors, who applied a high-pressing strategy from the start of the match. But Jacksen F. Tiago’s players coped with the pressure through short passing to control the tempo.

MilkLife Strikers’ opening goal came just three minutes into the match. Locita Waranggani got past the opposing defenders before getting her name on the scoresheet.

MilkLife Strikers’ lead grew in the eighth minute with a header from Keyla Azzahra Putri. A minute later, Nadia Shakila Azzahra converted a penalty to make it 3-0.

Ika Wonda then took over. The forward scored two more goals within one minute in the 10th minute, putting MilkLife Strikers 5-0 up at the end of the first half.

In the second half, Lion City Sailors tried to reduce the deficit. Their effort paid off with a goal from Hana Raiqa in the 23rd minute.

But MilkLife Strikers kept their lead. Ika Wonda scored again in the last three minutes of the match to complete her hat-trick. The 6-1 score held until the end.

MilkLife Strikers coach Jacksen F. Tiago said effectiveness in using chances was one of the important factors behind the win. He also praised the mentality of the players, who were able to cope with the pressure and nerves of the first match.

I told the children that even the smallest chance has to be made the most of. That is what they did today. The opposing team pressed high, and from there we managed to exploit the space behind their back line.

Jacksen also said he was happy to see the players overcome their nerves despite facing one of Singapore’s strong teams.

He said the experience of playing at an international tournament such as Singa Cup is a valuable opportunity for the players to develop their abilities.

Beyond the play, Jacksen highlighted the team cohesion formed during preparation. The MilkLife Strikers players come from different school and team backgrounds.

Before leaving for here, the players went through intensive preparation. From the start, we focused on building the players’ chemistry on the pitch. As a result, today I saw them all blend in and play as a unit.

Ika Wonda said she was delighted to help MilkLife Strikers win their first match of Singa Cup 2026.

Ika said the positive result was the fruit of the hard work of all the players during the training camp before leaving for Singapore.

Of course I am happy we could win today. It is thanks to the hard work of all the players, who trained diligently throughout the training camp. Our training was quite intensive before we got here.

Ika Wonda

She also said the three goals she scored were part of the task Jacksen had given her as a forward.

Today I also scored a hat-trick. That was in line with Coach Jacksen’s instruction to me that a striker’s job is to score goals. I am happy I could do my job well today.

Teddy Tjahjono, representing Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation and Program Director of the MilkLife Soccer Challenge, welcomed the win.

Teddy said MilkLife Strikers’ participation in Singa Cup is part of an effort to broaden the development of girls’ football from an early age.

Through this international tournament, the selected players of the MilkLife Soccer Challenge All-Stars 2025/2026 get the chance to measure their abilities against teams from other countries.

This is part of our effort to keep developing girls’ football from grassroots level. In the context of Singa Cup, we are trying to give the best players from MilkLife Soccer Challenge All-Stars 2026-2027 the chance to compete at a more competitive level.

Teddy Tjahjono, Program Director, MilkLife Soccer Challenge

Teddy said the experience is also a benchmark for seeing the results of the development work carried out through the MilkLife Soccer Challenge.

Singa Cup is an age-group football tournament held in Singapore since 2011. The 2026 edition has 136 teams from 13 countries.

Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation and MilkLife sent MilkLife Strikers to compete in the Girls U12 category. The squad is made up of players selected from the MilkLife Soccer Challenge All-Stars.

The Girls U12 category of Singa Cup 2026 has four teams in Group A. The competition is a round-robin league from 1 to 3 November 2026.

The top two teams in the table will go through to the final, while the other two will play for third place.

The win over Lion City Sailors gives MilkLife Strikers three points and puts them in contention at the top of the table with Selangor FC Academy A, who also have three points.

In their next match, MilkLife Strikers are scheduled to face Nepal’s representative, Rato Bangala School, on Monday (2 November 2026) at The Rainforest Hub, Singapore.

A second win would be important for MilkLife Strikers to keep alive their chances of reaching the Singa Cup 2026 final.
