MilkLife Strikers won the Singa Cup 2026 Girls U12 title by beating Selangor FC Academy A 2-1 in the final, and Locita Waranggani was named the category’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).

BERITA DIY – Indonesian girls’ football team MilkLife Strikers brought home the Singa Cup 2026 Girls U12 title after beating Malaysia’s representatives, Selangor FC Academy A, 2-1 in the final at The Rainforest Hub, Singapore, on Tuesday, 3 November 2026.

The win felt special because MilkLife Strikers had lost 0-1 to the same opponents the day before the final. However, Jacksen F. Tiago’s squad were able to bounce back and reverse the result of the previous meeting when the title was at stake.

Facing a Selangor FC Academy A side that defended with discipline, MilkLife Strikers chose to build their attacks through combinations of short passes. The players tried to keep possession while looking for space to break through the opposing defence.

These efforts bore fruit in the ninth minute. Nadia S. Azzahra managed to open the scoring with a volley that aimed at the bottom right corner of Selangor FC Academy A’s goal. The opening goal made MilkLife Strikers even more confident. Another attack resulted in a goal in the 20th minute after Adelice Maureen fired a shot which the opposing goalkeeper failed to stop. The 2-0 score lasted until the first half ended.

In the second half, Selangor FC Academy A tried to increase the pressure to close the gap. The Malaysian side finally pulled a goal back in the 37th minute, with only about three minutes of the match remaining.

Despite coming under pressure towards the end of the match, MilkLife Strikers held on to their lead. The final whistle confirmed a 2-1 win and made the Indonesian team champions of the Singa Cup 2026 Girls U12 category.

Jacksen F. Tiago Praises the MilkLife Strikers Players’ Champion Mentality

MilkLife Strikers coach Jacksen F. Tiago praised his players’ ability to bounce back after their defeat in the previous match. According to him, the players showed mental maturity by staying focused and having the courage to control the game in a high-pressure situation.

I applaud the players’ performance today. Yesterday’s defeat did not really affect their mentality. It was proven that today they were able to stay focused and appear dominant in possession of the ball. Personally, I was satisfied with what they displayed throughout the tournament. On the field they were able to show a strong winning mentality even though they lost. Then off the field, their attitude was good and they were able to mix with each other. I congratulate the players, I hope this success will be an inspiration for other children in Indonesia.

Jacksen F. Tiago, MilkLife Strikers coach

Besides overcoming the pressure of the match, the players’ team spirit was one of the positives seen throughout the tournament. The young athletes, who come from various regions, were able to work together and showed their development as a team.

MilkLife Strikers’ success was made complete when one of their players, Locita Waranggani, was chosen as Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Singa Cup 2026 Girls U12 category.

The player from Surabaya, East Java, scored two goals during the competition and was an important part of MilkLife Strikers’ journey to the title.

Locita said she was grateful for the team’s achievement and for the individual award she received. However, she considers the success to be the result of the support of all her teammates, the coaching staff and her family.

From the start, I just wanted to give the best possible performance for the team. That’s why I’m really happy that I was finally able to help the team win and win the MVP trophy. All of this is also thanks to the support of my friends on the team and the entire coaching staff too. Then to my parents at home who have supported me in playing football so far. After this, I will continue to try to improve my game by practicing more actively to hone my skills.

Singa Cup Title a Positive Result for Girls’ Football Development

MilkLife Strikers’ participation in Singa Cup 2026 is part of the girls’ youth football development programme run by Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation together with MilkLife.

The team is made up of selected players from the MilkLife Soccer Challenge All-Stars 2025/2026, who were given the opportunity to test their abilities in an international competition.

MilkLife Soccer Challenge Program Director Teddy Tjahjono welcomed MilkLife Strikers’ success as a positive achievement of the development work that has been carried out.

According to Teddy, international competition is an opportunity for players to gain experience against opponents from various countries. That experience is expected to help the athletes’ development and encourage more girls to take up football.

Congratulations to the players and coaches on their success. Thank you also for all the hard work so far that has allowed MilkLife Strikers to become champions at Singa Cup. Hopefully what we have achieved here will be an inspiration for other children in Indonesia. We will keep taking steps like this in the years to come as a form of sustainable development from an early age. We can see for ourselves how Indonesian girls’ football has developed in recent years, from grassroots level to the national team. That means what has been done so far is indeed moving on the right track.

Teddy Tjahjono, MilkLife Soccer Challenge Program Director
