MilkLife Strikers, Indonesia’s Girls U12 team, opened their Singa Cup 2026 campaign in Singapore with a 6-1 win over hosts Lion City Sailors.
MALANG POSCO MEDIA – MilkLife Strikers (MLS) began its campaign at Singa Cup 2026 with a landslide 6-1 victory over the host representative, Lion City Sailors. The Girls U-12 category match took place at The Rainforest Hub, West Coast, Singapore, Sunday (1 November).
The striker from Manahan Christian Elementary School, Surakarta, Ika Wonda, was in the spotlight after scoring three goals or a hat-trick. This victory is also positive capital for MilkLife Strikers in the group phase competition.

Since the start of the match, MilkLife Strikers first observed the opponent’s playing pattern which applied high pressing. However, Ika Wonda and friends were able to maintain composure and control the tempo through a combination of short passes.
MilkLife Strikers’ lead was opened by Locita Waranggani in the third minute. This goal disrupted Lion City Sailors’ defensive concentration.
MilkLife Strikers then doubled their lead through Keyla Azzahra Putri’s header in the eighth minute. One minute later, Nadia Shakila Azzahra successfully executed a penalty kick to change the score to 3-0.
The dominance continued when Ika Wonda scored two goals in the 10th minute. The 5-0 lead lasted until the end of the first half.
Entering the second half, MilkLife Strikers continued to try to add goals. However, Lion City Sailors first reduced the deficit through Hana Raiqa in the 23rd minute.
Ika put her name on the scoreboard again in the last three minutes of the match. This goal completed the hat-trick and ensured MilkLife Strikers’ victory with a score of 6-1.
MilkLife Strikers coach, Jacksen F. Tiago, considered effectiveness in taking advantage of opportunities to be one of the important factors in his team’s victory. He also appreciated the mentality of the players who were able to handle the pressure in the first match.
I told the kids that no matter how small of an opportunity they had to be maximized. That’s what they did today. Earlier the opposing team had done high-pressing, from there we managed to exploit the emptiness of their back line. Not only that, I’m also happy that the players were able to overcome their nervousness on the first day. Moreover, we managed to win against a strong team like Lion City Sailors. For me, them being able to come here and get playing experience is very valuable.

Apart from the technical aspects, Jacksen highlighted the solidarity of the players who come from different team backgrounds. According to him, intensive preparation before departure helped build chemistry between the squad members.
Before leaving here, the players had made intensive preparations. From the start, we focused on improving the chemistry of the players on the field. As a result, today I saw that they all managed to mingle and appear unified. They managed to close the distance between each other even though they came from different team backgrounds.

I’m certainly happy that I was able to win today. This is thanks to the hard work of all the players who trained hard throughout the training camp. Our training was quite intensive before we got here. Today I also scored a hat-trick, this was in accordance with Coach Jacksen’s instructions, who told me that the striker’s job is to score goals. I’m happy that I was able to do my job well today.
