Denpasar City FC said farewell to the Deputy Mayor of Denpasar before leaving for Singapore, where the club’s KU-8 and KU-10 teams are aiming for the SingaCup 2026 title.
balitribune.co.id | Denpasar – Local football club Denpasar City FC is officially sending two early-age teams to compete at the international football event SingaCup 2026. The prestigious tournament is scheduled to take place in Singapore on 30–31 October.

In this international competition, Denpasar City FC is fielding its under-8 (Kelompok Usia 8, KU-8) and under-10 (KU-10) age-group teams. The step is part of the club’s continuing development programme and adds to the players’ experience at international level.
Before leaving for Singapore, the management and players paid a courtesy call and said farewell to the Deputy Mayor of Denpasar, I Kadek Agus Arya Wibawa, at the Denpasar Mayor’s Office, to ask for his blessing.
12 players per team
The Denpasar City FC management coordinator explained that each age group is made up of 12 of the best players. The players chosen are the result of strict selection based on the coaching team’s measured training scheme.
Our main target, of course, is to win the title. But just as important is giving the children experience of playing at international level, so they can sharpen their mentality, discipline and self-confidence when facing players from other countries.

Before breaking into international level, the Denpasar City FC squad was forged in various Bali regional and national competitions. At the previous national championship, the club, which is only one year old, brought home trophies in four age groups at once: KU-9, KU-10, KU-12 and KU-14. This positive record is expected to be an important asset and extra motivation for the children in Singapore.
Looking ahead, the management expects these young players to keep moving up to older age groups. They are being prepared to represent the region in official competitions such as the Piala Soeratin and the Bali Provincial Sports Week (Pekan Olahraga Provinsi, Porprov).
Rp20 million from the Deputy Mayor
Meanwhile, the Deputy Mayor of Denpasar, I Kadek Agus Arya Wibawa, expressed his high appreciation for Denpasar City FC’s participation on the international stage. He sees the event as a golden opportunity to build the character and mentality of Denpasar City’s future athletes.
Arya Wibawa told all the players to always look after their health and team unity and to uphold sportsmanship, to protect the good name of Denpasar City and Bali. He also reminded the players not to forget to pray at their own family temples before departure, for a smooth tournament.
As a concrete sign of the government’s support for the development of early-age athletes, the Deputy Mayor of Denpasar handed Rp20 million in travel support to the team management.
These children are the future of football in Denpasar, and we must support them together. I hope the valuable experience in Singapore can improve their technical ability and their competitive mentality. Keep giving your best.
Arya Wibawa, Deputy Mayor of Denpasar
