Jakarta, KAIDAH.ID – Youth and Sports Minister (Menpora) Erick Thohir, together with Deputy Minister Taufik Hidayat, received a visit from the Palu Selection team at the Ministry of Youth and Sports office in Jakarta on Tuesday, 11 November 2025.

The meeting was facilitated by MPR Deputy Speaker AM Akbar Supratman as a sign of appreciation for the Central Sulawesi youngsters, who had just returned from competing at Singa Cup 2025 in Singapore. Earlier, Akbar Supratman had also given Rp100 million in assistance to the Palu Selection team to support their departure for the international tournament. The support was a concrete expression of care for the development of youth football in the regions.
60 balls and a scholarship pledge
At the Ministry, Erick Thohir handed over 60 footballs to support Palu Selection’s training. He also stated the government’s commitment to give special attention and educational scholarships to high-achieving young athletes, responding directly to a proposal from the team’s coach, Fadlun Hamid.
The government will keep supporting sustained development for young athletes so they can grow up to the international level. Don’t be quick to feel satisfied with what has been achieved; keep training and stay disciplined.
Erick Thohir
For his part, Akbar Supratman, who is also a member of the DPD (Regional Representative Council) for Central Sulawesi, thanked the Minister and Deputy Minister for receiving the young Central Sulawesi players and for their attention.
We thank the Minister and Deputy Minister for the welcome. We hope this attention will motivate high-achieving children, especially players from Central Sulawesi, to keep developing.

Achievement at Singa Cup 2025
Palu Selection had just returned from Singapore after playing at Singa Cup 2025, an international tournament involving hundreds of young players from many countries. Although their run ended in the quarter-finals, one of their players, Aimar Al Adlu, known as Marco, became the tournament’s top scorer with 11 goals.
Citing the official Singa Cup 2025 website, the article says Marco shone from the opening match. He scored five goals against India, one against Australia and two against Singapore, plus several more in the group stage. His sharpness in front of goal made him one of the most prominent young stars of the event.
Marco’s success and that of his teammates, the article says, proves that the potential of young Indonesian players, especially from Central Sulawesi, is very large and deserves full support from the government.
This achievement is only the beginning. We want young players like them to grow into national athletes who carry Indonesia’s name on the world stage.
