BEKASI CITY – The proud young team of Bekasi City, Tajimalela FA U-14, made a brilliant achievement in the international arena after winning the 2025 Lion Cup which was held in Singapore on November 4-7, 2025.
In the final match that took place fiercely, Sugeng Waluyo’s squad conquered Malaysia’s representative, La Stallions, with a narrow score of 1–0, while ensuring the championship trophy was brought back to the country.
The prestigious tournament at the youth level was attended by 20 clubs from seven countries, namely Singapore, Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand, India, Australia, and Indonesia. Tajimalela FA, which is headquartered at the Yonif Mekanis 202/Tajimalela Complex, Rawalumbu, Bekasi City, performed consistently from the preliminary round to the final.
Tajimalela FA U-14 coach, Sugeng Waluyo, expressed his gratitude and pride for his team’s extraordinary achievements.
“This is the result of six months of long preparation. We held an internal competition to recruit the best 19 players, and the results were very proud. Alhamdulillah, we were able to bring home the championship title from Singapore,” said Sugeng.
In line with that, team manager Haji Uki Ifwa said that this success is proof that early childhood coaching in Bekasi City is starting to show real results. He assessed that victory in this international event can be an important capital for the development of Indonesian youth football.
Bekasi Mayor Dr. Tri Adhianto also gave high appreciation to the players, coaches, and management of Tajimalela FA.
“I am very happy and proud. This achievement shows that Bekasi City has great potential in the field of football. I hope they will continue to develop, achieve, and make the region proud at the national and international levels,” said Tri Adhianto.
In the future, Tajimalela FA is preparing ambitious steps by building the “Bekasi City” Project Academy as a long-term coaching forum. The U-14 team will also be projected to participate in the Soeratin competition and is planned to appear at the European level.
“We are exploring cooperation and a competition agenda to Europe. Hopefully, these children can practice and compete at a higher level,” added Sugeng Waluyo.
Tajimalela FA U-14’s victory in the 2025 Lions Cup is not only an achievement on the field, but also a strong signal that the regeneration of Indonesian football continues to move forward from the grassroots, one of which is from the city of Bekasi.
