MDI.NEWS, Singapore – The young team from Bekasi, Tajimalela FA U-14, succeeded in making a brilliant achievement in the international arena by winning the 2025 Lions Cup title in Singapore.
The prestigious Asian tournament was held on November 4-7, 2025 and was attended by 20 teams from seven countries: Singapore, Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand, India, Australia, and Indonesia.
In the final match that took place fiercely, Tajimalela FA U-14 managed to defeat La Stallions from Malaysia with a narrow score of 1–0, as well as ensuring the championship trophy was brought back to the country.
The team, which is headquartered at the Yonif Mekanis 202/Tajimalela Complex, Rawalumbu, Bekasi City, performed consistently from the preliminary phase to the final.
This success is clear evidence of the hard work of the coaching team and young players who are full of fighting spirit.
Coach Sugeng Waluyo and Team Manager H. Uki Ifwa admitted that they were very proud of this achievement.
“This is the result of a long process. We conducted a selection for six months from internal competitions until the 19 best players were formed. Alhamdulillah, their hard work paid off with the championship trophy in Singapore,” said Sugeng Waluyo.
Support and appreciation also came from the Mayor of Bekasi, Dr. Tri Adhianto, who admitted that he was proud of the achievements of his regional children in the international arena.
“I really appreciate this extraordinary achievement. Tajimalela FA U-14 has proven that Bekasi City has great potential in the world of football. Hopefully this achievement will be an inspiration for other young generations to continue to excel and bring the name of Bekasi to the world stage,” he said.
In the future, Tajimalela FA does not stop here. The coaching team has prepared strategic steps towards a higher level.
“We are preparing the ‘Bekasi City’ academy project for long-term coaching and preparation for the Soeratin team. The next target is to appear in European events, and we have started communication with outside parties,” said Sugeng closing his statement.
This achievement confirms that Bekasi is not only known as an industrial city, but also begins to carve out new history as a city that produces outstanding football talents at the international level.
