Jakarta, Mercusuar – Fadlun A Hamid, an early-age football coach in the city of Palu, said she is proud of the achievements of SSB Palu Selection, who will represent Indonesia at the international Singa Cup 2025 event in Singapore.

Maybe people are surprised because I’m a woman, but I really am a football fan. I’m proud to see the achievements of the Palu Selection kids, who are still only 14. It means football is loved by everyone in the world, regardless of age or gender.

Fadlun spoke to reporters in Jakarta on Sunday (2/11/2025).

Fadlun A Hamid, who coaches SSB Palu Selection, said her team had earlier played a friendly against MFRI Jakarta and won 2-0, even without fielding three of its core players.

The children are in good health. We always pay attention to their health and stamina because this is the first experience for children from Central Sulawesi representing Indonesia at the international level.

Development must continue

Fadlun hopes that football development at school level will continue and receive serious attention from regional governments.

It doesn’t mean that after this (Singa Cup) it stops. Development must keep going so that in future we can face teams from other countries again.

On the development of early-age football, Fadlun hopes there will be dedicated football schools for every age level.

She also expressed appreciation to the Central Sulawesi Provincial Government, which supported the team and sent it off to Jakarta through Deputy Governor Reny A. Lamadjido.

We are very grateful for the support of the regional government, especially the Deputy Governor, who also sent us off, and I also thank Pak Akbar, the man in the black shirt, who fully supports SSB Palu Selection.
