Bali United Academy as a forum for coaching young players, which began in March 2024, is increasingly showing positive developments.
In addition to participating in national competitions such as the Elite Pro Academy (EPA) Liga 1 this season and the 2024 Soeratin Cup, Bali United Academy also expands their experience in international competitions.
Not kidding, a prestigious international competition for young people was immediately included, namely the 2024 SingaCup.
The youth tournament played in Singapore ran their fourteenth competition and became the first event for the Bali United Academy squad.
A total of 4 teams were sent to the neighboring country, namely the U8, U10, U12 and U16 categories which competed with teams from other countries.
Bali United Academy is the representative of the team from Indonesia and competes with teams from Malaysia, Singapore, India, the Philippines, and Japan.
This tournament will take place from Saturday (2/11) to Saturday (9/11).
In addition to Bali United, another Liga 1 team, Persib Bandung, also sent their fostered teams in the U12 and U14 categories.
Then there were also representatives of young fostered teams from Indonesia, namely Diklat Imran Soccer Academy, Sulcata Football Academy, and Madani FC also participated in this international event.
A representative of the management of Bali United FC, Richi Kurniawan, who also accompanied the students fostered by Bali United Academy in Singapore, also gave his comments.
“We are also proud of the development of Bali United Academy children who dare to appear in this year’s SingaCup international tournament. Of course, this is thanks to the support from all parties, namely management, coaches and officials, parents and stakeholders from Bali United Academy who were able to appear in this prestigious event for the first time. What is certain is that this is a forum for them to continue to develop their talents in the field of football so that later they can become professional players in clubs and the Indonesian national team in the future,” said Richi, who also serves as the General Coordinator of the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium.
The first team to appear is the U8 squad where Bali United Academy U8 is in group D out of a total of 5 groups divided from various regions taking place from November 2 to 3, 2024.
Bali United Academy U8 managed to occupy second place in the group D standings after collecting 9 points from three wins and one loss.
They managed to win from Singapore’s representative Anza Soccer with a score of 4-6 and again won 4-2 over the Philippines’ representative, G8 U8 Black.
Then Bali United Academy U8 managed to defeat the representative of Singapore with a score of 3-0 without reply before finally succumbing to the representative of Malaysia, TSS Darulehsan Malaysia 7’s.
Occupying second place in the standings, BU Academy U8 again underwent a playoff match to determine the best team to qualify for the last 8.
A proud result occurred again where BU Academy U8 managed to win with a score of 2 goals without reply over the representative of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila.
BU Academy U8’s progress was stopped in the quarterfinals after losing 5-1 to TSS Selangor Malaysia.
Shifting to the U10 category and the implementation of the match is the same as the U8 category, Bali United Academy U10 is not able to say much.
BU Academy U10 occupies the bottom of the group D standings after only being able to achieve one draw and three defeats.
They are in the same group as LCS FA from Singapore, Afro Asia Football Academy (Singapore), G8 U10 Black from the Philippines, Conscient Sport Mumbai from India.
Then continuing in the U12 category, Bali United Academy U12 also stopped their steps in the preliminary round.
BU Academy U12 only won one victory over India’s representative, Conscient Sport Delhi through a single winning goal.
Meanwhile, BU Academy U12 had to swallow three losses to Warriors United FC (Singapore), LS Talent Raptors (Australia), and G8 Academy (Philippines) in group E.
Then for the U16 category, Bali United Academy U16 will start their struggle on Tuesday (5/11) tomorrow until Friday (8/11) if they are able to penetrate the final round.
BU Academy U16 is in group B with Active SG FA (Singapore), St Michael Soccer Association (Singapore) and two representatives from Australia, namely Football South Australia and Ocean Reef SHS.
