Singapore, Kepripost – The Central Tapanuli (Tapteng) Sibolga Student U 16 football team managed to make the best achievement for Indonesia when participating in the event Lion Cup 2025 which will be held in Singapore. Lion Cup is a prestigious sports event in the field of football because it brings together teams from several countries in Asia, such as Singapore, Thailand, India, Pakistan, Indonesia to Australia. In the preliminary round, Tapteng Sibolga FC is in group C which is filled with three strong clubs such as Lyari Football Academy from Pakistan, Ocean Reef SHS 2 (Australia), and teams from Thailand (Benjamarachanusorn school).
Although in the first team had suffered narrow defeats to Thailand and Pakistan, Coach Tata’s team was able to rise by defeating Ocean Reef SHS Australia with a landslide score of 4-0 and became the best three team and had the right to qualify for the last eight.
In the round of eight, the Tapteng team met the Garuda Muda Indonesia team and managed to win through a penalty shootout. The win was welcomed by the coaches and team officials. Tapteng Sibolga who accompanied during the match in Singapore. Outstanding achievements for the team Tapteng Sibolga because it was the only Indonesian representative to advance to the semifinals, after other teams such as Semen Padang had to run aground in the last eight.
